DCS Seniors Complete NWCC Manufacturing Skills Program, Marking a Strong Finish to a High-Impact Workforce Initiative
DeSoto County Schools is pleased to recognize the successful completion of the NWCC Workforce Development Manufacturing Skills Short Course, a targeted training initiative designed to equip high school seniors with industry-aligned competencies that support direct entry into the regional workforce.
This semester, seniors from across the district engaged in a structured series of lab-based training sessions at the Northwest Mississippi Community College Workforce Training Center in Byhalia. Throughout the program, students gained exposure to core manufacturing concepts, safety protocols, equipment operation, and foundational technical skills that align with employer expectations across the Mid-South manufacturing sector.
