Gator Grind is a marketplace-style event where LCHS student entrepreneurs showcase their businesses, products, services, and ideas to experienced community leaders who understand what it takes to build something from the ground up. Some students are already operating businesses; others are just starting—but all benefit from real-world insight, encouragement, and perspective.
We are seeking local entrepreneurs, business owners, and industry leaders willing to spend a couple of hours engaging with students, visiting booths, and sharing practical advice. Your involvement carries credibility and helps ensure students are inspired and challenged by respected voices in our community.
Priority industries include:
Product-based businesses (retail, food, handmade goods)
Service-based businesses (photography, lawn care, beauty, consulting, trades)
Digital and creative businesses (graphic design, branding, marketing, content creation)
Innovation and startup concepts
This is a high-energy, student-centered event—no formal judging. Participants are asked to encourage, interact, and help students see what’s possible. Recognition-based incentives (e.g., High Growth Potential, Strong Business Concept, Ready for the Real World) will be awarded based on entrepreneur feedback.
Optional in-kind contributions (mentoring, branding support, marketing help, social media shout-outs, small gift cards, or swag) are welcome and make a meaningful impact.
The event is approaching quickly. If you’re willing to participate or can recommend a strong fit, timely responses are appreciated. Thank you for investing in LCHS students and strengthening the future workforce pipeline in DeSoto County.
