The Bridging the Gap Career Expo is a comprehensive career readiness initiative led by DeSoto Economic Development Council in conjunction with DeSoto County Schools to equip 10th grade students with early exposure to high-demand career pathways. This large-scale event connects students directly with business and industry partners, providing valuable insight into regional employment opportunities and the education and training required to access them.

Through structured interaction with employers, hands-on exhibits, and career pathway exploration, students begin making informed decisions about their future coursework and postsecondary plans. This event serves as a critical milestone in our workforce development continuum, ensuring students are intentionally aligned with career opportunities and are better prepared to transition from high school into the workforce, technical training, or higher education.
